A landscape rich in lakes, mires and woodland. This section provides varied walking along nice paths and woodland roads, via beautiful small lakes and through areas of both coniferous and mixed woodland.

Section 10 on the Bohusleden Trail runs between Lysevatten in the District of Stenungsund and Hasteröd in Lilla Edet. This section is characterised by a landscape rich in lakes, mires and woodland. It provides varied walking along nice paths and woodland roads, via beautiful small lakes, over mires and clear-felled areas, through areas of both coniferous and mixed woodland.

The first part of the section is quite hilly. Some parts of the section go through large areas that have been clear-felled, where the walker can see how commercial woodland is managed. There are areas that have been clear-felled more recently and areas where new trees have begun to establish, but where all the trees are even aged. For more information, see under forest logging on the Bohusleden trail.

There is a lovely shelter at Djupevatten. It is an excellent spot for a short break, but also a good place to spend the night or go for a swim. There is often a lovely sunset to the west across the lake from this spot.

The section ends by a road where you can find the start to section 11. There is space here for a few cars to park.

Surface: This section is mainly on dirt road and forest path, and a little on asphalt.

Approximate time: It takes approximately 4-5 hours

Not to be missed: A stop at the hut/shelter at Djupevatten

How to get here: Close to Lysevatten there is the bus stop Broan. There is no stop for public transportation in Hasteröd

Accommodation: There are no proposed accommodations along this section.

About Difficulty Grading

The grading of the trails is based on a common national standard. If you want to read more about this, visit the National Framework for Hiking Trails.

Even and firm ground: The terrain is generally flat. The hike requires no need to use your hands for support. No obstacles. Bridges are always present when crossing waterways.

Uneven and/or soft ground: Some changes in elevation. Certain sections may require hand support to maintain balance. There may be obstacles such as low stiles and short stairs. Minor obstacles like stones and roots. Boardwalks are present.

Loose or slippery ground combined with steep sections: Technical parts require hand support. There may be obstacles such as high stiles and longer stairs. Frequent sections with stones and/or roots. Boardwalks with deeper surrounding water.

Note: One or more of these features may be present along the trail section.
